1. Tell us about the work you currently do?
With 24 years of experience in the commercial and retail real estate space, I head the Commercial and Retail practice at Puravankara Ltd. Having the ability to implement strategies that support the business and financial objectives of corporates, principal investors, and real estate developers. Currently, we have an outlook of over 3 million sq.ft under construction in Bengaluru. We at Puravankara are also looking for opportunities in Commercial Real Estate in South and West India. My mandate is to establish Puravankara, a company with a rich 48-year-old history of developing residential projects, as a key commercial real estate developer.
As part of the senior management at Puravankara, I help strategize growth opportunities and establish business relationships with all stakeholders, including major corporates, service providers, government agencies, and investors. My responsibilities include leasing and selling our commercial real estate assets and acting as an extended leasing agent to investors. This helps inventors ensure steady returns and minimise gaps in their cash flows.

3. What is your favorite tip for someone aspiring to work in the CRE industry?
Working in Commercial Real Estate requires a hunger for success. There is no place for complacency in this sector. You are only as good as your last deal, and one cannot rest for long on past laurels and glory.
The sector demands continuous performance, and every professional must remain relevant in order to be remembered and make a mark for themselves. Collaboration, networking, patience, and staying up-to-date on the latest trends with a solid perspective gained from historical knowledge are keys to success in this field.
4. What do you enjoy doing outside of work? What keeps you motivated?
I am an avid sports fan, and my interests are in cricket, adventure sports, swimming, and motorsports. In the past, I have represented India at Master Swimming competitions held in Turkey and Dubai and participated in several competitions within the country.
Socializing with friends and family also gives me great joy. I also stay engaged with social activities focused on hunger relief and the environment, and I am a member of a few societies and trusts, including the Lions Club International.
My goal of continuous learning and having a forward-looking outlook is what keeps me motivated.
