Tell us about your background/career path/education.
I obtained my Engineering degree from Mumbai University in 2000 & my MBA from Pune University in 2008. In the last 21+ years, I have gained professional experience in Sales & Product Management functions in the Enterprise Data Center & Cloud solutions. I am a domain expert & have developed critical skills in client management, advisory, marketing, and deal negotiations.
I began my career in Field engineering for DishnetDSL before joining the Sales & Marketing team of British Telecom. I later took on senior roles with Tata Communications & Bharti Airtel.
I have built, expanded, and managed the Data Center business and led the transformational deals in India and overseas.
Tell us about your responsibilities in your current role what you enjoy most.
In my current role at CBRE, I lead the Data Center Practice team for Advisory & Transactions Services in India.
My current role allows me the privilege to operate as an entrepreneur and make decisions that deliver superior outcomes for our clients for repeat & referral business. Keeping abreast of the market trends & engaging in strategic conversations with our clients keeps me excited in my day-to-day functions.
What are one or two of the biggest challenges facing the corporate real estate profession?
This pandemic taught us that operating on-premises Data Center is not sustainable for the business in the long run. Significantly when the computing requirements have exponentially increased, the need for data security & having a disaster recovery & business continuity plan is essential for the business.
During the last 18-20 months, we have advised significant corporates on revamping & re-drafting their Data Centre strategy to meet the business objectives & make the solution future-ready for the organization. The Corporate Real Estate leaders played a pivotal role in these strategic conversations. They worked very closely with their technology leaders to execute organizations' long-term Data Center strategy.
How are you involved and engaged with CoreNet Global?
CoreNet Global India has been an excellent forum for networking with corporate real estate leaders. Tuning into their perspectives & challenges in addressing business demands keeps me excited and reassures me of CRE leaders as essential partners to any business. I have attended several knowledge sessions organized by CoreNet, which are helpful & I plan to conduct a few myself shortly to share my professional knowledge & perspectives with industry peers.
